Frequently asked questions

Are you open to the public?

Yes. All of our locations are open to the public six days a week. We invite everyone to recycle with us and be compensated.

What types of businesses do you serve?

We service commercial, industrial and residential customers of all sizes. Take a look at our Business Services page to see what we can do for you.

What MUST I have with me to sell scrap metal?

You must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid state-issued photo ID card such as a Driver’s License.

What is NOT an acceptable form of identification?

We do not accept F.O.I.D. (Firearms owner identification), fishing licenses, debit or bank cards, insurance cards, or federally-issued IDs such as U.S. passport, military ID, etc.

How do I get your current prices?

Our prices track market value, and we’re transparent about what we pay for your scrap. To find out our prices, call us directly at the following numbers:

Ferrous Prices: 618-462-0277

Non-Ferrous Prices: 618-462-2901

How long will it take to recycle my items?

It all depends on how much you are bringing in. Normally, it takes no more than thirty minutes to complete a transaction, including unloading, grading, weighing, pricing and receiving your cash or check payment.

Where do I go?

We have two separate entrances at each location: one designated for all ferrous materials and the other for non-ferrous metals and scrap. Check what you have against our What We Buy page to make sure you are going to the right one.

Do I have to unload myself?

No. Our very knowledgeable and friendly staff will be happy to assist you if you need help.

Do you provide drop off and/or pick-up service?

Yes. We have a wide variety of equipment to service your recycling needs. We will provide roll-offs, gondola trailers, flatbeds, dump hoppers or whatever you may need to handle your scrap. If we don’t have the container you need in inventory, we can order it for you.

How do I know how much weight I have and if the weights are correct?

We have state-tested and certified digital scales that are visible to you at all times. As your materials are weighed, you can view the scale and be reassured that you will be paid for every pound that you are recycling.

What if my question is not on this list?
